This was stated by the Prime Minister of Ukraine Volodymyr Groysman during the “Question Hour for the Government” in the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine on Friday, September 23.

“In the near future, the Government will adopt all the necessary resolutions that will make it possible to ensure a system of public, open, so-called reimbursement from January 1, 2017. We are talking about providing prescription drugs free of charge at the level of the minimum prices that will be at that time,” said Volodymyr Groysman.

Also, since January 1, the Government is implementing a system of real reference pricing for medicines. In this context, Volodymyr Groysman noted that medicines in 3-7 countries around Ukraine are cheaper today.

“Our domestic prices will be tied to the prices in these countries and we will get a reference, which will make it possible to lower the prices of medicines. And it will happen, he emphasized. – I understand, we will be opposed, especially by those who make money from these things. But we don’t care about that. We are doing our job, and people will feel that the situation is changing.”
